LUFKIN celebrates the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Claremore, Oklahoma! Our LUFKIN Don-Nan team has begun a process to relocate its machine shop operations from Midland, Texas, to a state-of-the-art facility in Claremore, uniquely suited to its manufacturing needs.
“This new facility will enable Don-Nan to continue to add to its workforce by at least 70 full-time employees. These will include CNC Machinists, Operations Leadership and Engineering resources needed to meet the increasing demand for our products,” says Denys LeBlanc, General Manager, Downhole Products & Services
“In addition,” says Denys, “this will allow us to continue to build upon the lean manufacturing methodologies being employed across the LUFKIN business, which ensure that LUFKIN Don-Nan continues to raise the bar of manufacturing benchmark-setting API 11AX certified products.”
Midland’s machine shop employees were given the opportunity to transfer to the expanded Oklahoma facility. For those who choose not to make the move, LUFKIN reassigned to other Midland facilities thus making employee retention a top priority. Midland will retain plunger, barrel, and accessories manufacturing operations. The Midland Campus will continue as the distribution center for finished goods and other downhole equipment.
In Claremore, LUFKIN has teamed up with the Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority (CIEDA) and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC) to help meet the company’s workforce needs, and has qualified as a participant for the Oklahoma Quality Jobs program. “A big advantage of relocating to Claremore is their Northeast Tech Center, a technical college that offers training for the very computerized numerical control (CNC) machinists that we hire,” says Mike Paschal, Vice President of Manufacturing. “We expect to be fully staffed by the end of February 2022,” says Mike.
